Being hurt by the church is its own kind of pain. It cuts deeper because you did not have your guard up. You expected safety, love, and family, and instead you were betrayed, controlled, judged, or quietly pushed out. And so often, when you tried to speak, you were the one made to feel like the problem: too sensitive, unforgiving, divisive. Just pray about it. No church is perfect. The wound got healed lightly, and the ache stayed.
This series does not do that. It takes your wound seriously and walks slowly toward real healing. Over four volumes we'll name the wound honestly and discover that Jesus understands, because He was rejected and wounded by the religious too; untangle God from the people who hurt you, because their failure is not His; walk the road of healing through honest anger and a forgiveness that never means pretending or returning to harm; and look gently toward finding your way back, to God, and, only if and when you're ready, to safe community. There is no timeline here, and no pressure. You were wounded in the house, but the house does not get the final word. God does, and His word is hope.
