And then, at his lowest, he sat beneath a desert shrub and told God he wanted to die. Few figures in Scripture knew so intimately what it is to be courageous one day and undone the next.

It is twenty-one days walking the whole of his story in order, from 1 Kings 17 to 2 Kings 2, drawing one honest lesson from each turn: bold faith, the collapse that can follow a triumph, and a God who meets us with rest and a whisper rather than a rebuke.
