A Devo10 series · For a grieving parent · 84 days

Until I
hold you again.

For the parent carrying a grief the world keeps expecting to end.

There is no loss like the loss of a child. Whatever their age, however they were taken from you, the ground has gone out from under your life. This series will not rush you, explain your loss away, or hand you the empty things people say. It simply walks with you, one honest morning at a time, from the unbearable toward a hope that does not pretend the pain is over. Written for any parent, any age of child, any cause. The first week is free.

The shape of the first 21 days Volume 1 of 4

Four volumes, 84 days, ten quiet minutes at a time. Written to the grieving parent, with grace, not guilt, and never a timeline. Week one is free, and it opens one morning at a time.

For the grief no words can reach

The world moved on. Your heart did not.

The casseroles stopped. The calls slowed. Everyone else went back to their lives, and you were left standing in a silence shaped exactly like your child. Maybe it was days ago, maybe it was years, and the missing has not eased. This book will never rush you, never tell you to move on or find closure, and never hand you the empty things people say, that it was for a reason, that God needed another angel, that at least you have other children. It will not add guilt to your grief, and it will never suggest this was your fault.

Over four volumes we walk it together. First we simply sit in the unbearable, where God draws near to the brokenhearted and grief needs no timeline. Then we make room for the hardest questions, the whys and the if-onlys and even the anger, because God is big enough to hold them, and your child's death was not His punishment or your failure. We carry what remains, the long grief and the memory you will hold forever, and the family that grieves together and differently. And we lift our eyes, gently, to the hope of reunion, anchored not in sentiment but in the God who conquered death. This book cannot explain why. What it can do is walk beside you, honestly, until the day you hold your child again. The first week is free.

When you need more

A devotional meets you each morning. A pastor walks with you.

Devo10 can be a warm few minutes each day, but the loss of a child is too heavy to carry with a book alone. When ten minutes a day isn't enough, Tend is real pastoral care from real people who will listen, pray with you, and simply sit with you in the grief, without rushing you or offering easy answers. And please lean on a grief counselor and a bereaved-parents group too. You were never meant to carry this alone.
